Best Noninvasive Procedures for Summer

Tips on Staying Healthy During the Summer
July 1, 2019

Under the heat of the summer sun, people are more likely to shed their layers in order to keep cool and enjoy swimming and spending time outside.  But if you don’t feel comfortable with your “summer body,” there are plenty of noninvasive procedures that you can try to help you look and feel your best.  Here are four you can use to improve your image.

CoolSculpting

Even after diet and exercise, you may find that there are specific areas of fat that won’t slim down with the rest of you.  Maybe they’re love handles or a muffin top, but regardless, CoolSculpting targets those specific areas and eliminates the fat cells in a natural and painless process. The treatment is affordable, noninvasive, FDA approved, and relatively fast.  Rather than going under the knife, CoolSculpting uses freezing temperatures to break down fat cells.  Procedures typically last 30 minutes to an hour, and you’re welcome to bring a book or laptop to occupy you in the meantime.  Through the targeted cooling process, CoolScultping can eliminate 20-40% of a specific body fat layer. Following the treatment, it could take approximately 4–6 months for the fat cells to leave the body.  The number of treatments depends on the patient’s body type, and the look they’re trying to achieve. Generally, patients opt for one to three procedures.

Cryotherapy

Another chilly way to revitalize your body this summer is through cryotherapy.  This procedure uses extremely low temperatures to rejuvenate your body and aid in a number of physical ailments.  There are two types of cryotherapy offered: localized and full-body therapy.  The latter of the two is the more extreme and more effective use of the treatment. Essentially, you step into a chamber that stops at your neck and subjects you to vaporized nitrogen at negative 230 degrees Fahrenheit.  This treatment only lasts a few minutes before the healing takes place. In this case, the cold shocks your body into circulating blood from the extremities to the organs as a means of protecting them.  While at your core, the blood becomes enriched with nutrients; once your body steps back into the room’s temperature, this enriched blood is cycled back through the rest of the body.  Some of the benefits of cryotherapy include decreased recovery time, reduced inflammation, improved skin health, increased hemoglobin levels, (which aid in sleep) and weight loss.

Botox

Things like sun, exposure, stress, and, of course, natural aging will add fine lines and wrinkles to your face.  Over-the-counter creams and face masks only have so much power. If you’re looking for another great way to turn back the clock this summer, however, you could try Botox.  This procedure relaxes the muscles in your face in order to smooth out wrinkles and to give you a refreshed look almost instantly.  It only takes between 15 and 20 minutes, although you may have to wait seven to ten days for it to take full effect.  The results are not permanent, however, and typically last between three to four months, depending on the person.  Fortunately, Botox has no downtime, can be done during your lunch break, and is a great way to look and feel good this summer.

Laser Hair Removal

Wrinkles and body fat aside, hair removal remains one of the most popular body alterations, and summer only amplifies the need for it.  Constantly having to shave, wax, and tweeze is a hassle in itself, but laser hair removal is a noninvasive procedure that eliminates this chore.  With this method, the laser’s energy destroys the hair follicle, which prevents the hair from growing back.  It’s much more effective than waxing and afterwards, it could take anywhere from six months to a year to grow back.  Any area of the body can receive this treatment including sensitive areas such as the face and bikini line.  For best results, people usually undergo four to six treatments over the course of four to eight weeks.

Looking and feeling your best this summer is easier than ever, and having a positive body image is essential.  Some people dread the warmer months because of the inability to hide behind layers of clothes, but they shouldn’t have to.  Noninvasive procedures like these allow you to improve your appearance with little to no downtime, meaning you can get back to enjoying your summer.
